Our Research Into Domestic Abuse And Violence In The UK

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has recently announced an investment of £12 million into the Capital’s Domestic Abuse Services.

It got us thinking about the rest of the UK where Domestic Abuse may be just as rife so we set out to investigate DA crimes nationwide.

Personal Injury Claims UK submitted Freedom of Information Requests to every UK police force to find out how many domestic abuse crimes had been reported in the past year.

We asked for the number of domestic violence crimes per month between November 2022 and October 2023.

The majority of victims were female but male figures looked higher than in previous years.

In England and Wales, The Crime Survey estimated that 2.1 million people aged 16 years and over experience domestic abuse in year ending March 2023.

Personal injury Claims UK investigated figures for each policing district in the UK.
